MARIANNE RATIER, illustrator and artist How is your bed? I see my bed as a little hut, where i can hiding all my stuff : peluches, dolls, all my friends. There are also bars on it, so i can suspending necklaces and other precious jewels. Which kind of meal you do not like? I'm really scared by spider crab. And your favourite? I'm fond of saucisson and cheese, I prefer salty stuffs than candies and cakes. Your favorite book to read? There are too many... Les Trois Brigands et Le géant de Zeralda, by Tomi Ungerer. Have you got an imaginary friend? No, I've never had imaginary friends.

I love the pasta my mum makes and also teh small pancakes my father sometime bakes, essecially with brown sugar! And your favourite book? I just love...Donald Duck, Tin Tin & Astrix and Obelix...as you can see on my picture...i read al lot and my favorite time is while eating my luch in between schooltimes. Have you got an imaginary friend? Not 1...several! They help me when i am sad of nervous and every night they stay with me because i am afraid in the dark...

JENNI HARLEY, Cloth and Thread How is your bed? My bed is safely under my sisters & her floral bedspread hangs down like theatre curtains over mine. I sleep tightly packed in amongst 9, 10 maybe 11 of my favourite toys. Which kind of meal you do not like? Why do you serve this eggplant/aubergine thing? There is only one thing to do, hide it in my lap, then throw it to birds or whoever wants it in the backyard after dinner! And your favourite? Oh Mummy your trifle is beautiful & so are you! Your favourite book to read? "Mary learns to Dance" 1974 by Gilbert Delahaye - Marcel Marlier. I lived in every page & loved the world Mr. Marlier imagined for it. Have you got an imaginary friend? This is my friend Lisa & she wears the most amazing dresses & shoes I can dream up for her. It was all about broderie anglaise & blue birds. She was my muse.

I like almost everything, I don't like raw cucumbers, a pumpkin flavor that brings me back to harsh thoughts. My favorite book is "Cappuccetto Bianco" (Munari), a white book, the colour of imagination Have you got an imaginary friend? My imaginary friends are called Calindi and Calondo,two brothers goofing around and fly over my head!

VIOLETA LOPIZ, illustator How is your bed? Oh!!! my bed!!! It´s cover by the most amazing blanquet ever, trains and rales, in each vagon there is a strange animal, but they are very bizarre, the are painted in strange colors, a green rinozerous, a blue dog, a hipopotame in orange. The whole combination of colors just makes me confortable and wilde, strong orange and green and blue, and yellow, never posible to use for me as an old illustrator. There is just this and a book pillow that I love to feel in my face. Which kind of meal you do not like?I hate, really hate this gazpacho! Everyday tomato cold soup lowered with water and cucumber. And please, dont give me this white thing on the bread, “mantequilla”?, its really disgusting to put fat on the bread, its not tasting to anything! And your favourite? But I love chocolate in the milk! Ah! If I dont have cacao for breakfast, I will be really sad and ugly this day. I love the letters in the soup, and the homelette withouth egg, ah! Yes, the homelette is done just with eggs, but I dont like when you see the egg liquid, perfect, thank you! Your favorite book to read? Tragasueños (“Das Traumfresserchen” from Michael Ende illustrated by Annegert Fuchshuber ) and all kind of illustrated dictionaries, specially the one of Richard Scarry. Have you got an imaginary friend? No, but I had a dog and a duck and a rabbit and a goat instead, and I have the snow white house, and I have a car to run with your own legs!

GRETHE SIVERTSEN, designer How is your bed? My bed is a place where I fall asleep quickly, there's a lion under it. He's always ready to take my legs, so I have to leap far out on the floor when I get out of bed. Which kind of meal you do not like? Marzipan and sweet cakes make me sick, uuugh! Favorite? My mother's meatballs, eating crab outdoors (especially the brown food in the shell, which looks terrible) and I love all food with lots of flavor... mmm Your favorite book to read? The Norwegian folk fairytales, which often have bad endings, like the pancake that was eaten by the pig... Have you got an imaginary friend? I have that lion under my bed, and a crocodile under the stairs. They haven't eaten me yet, but I wouldn't call them friends..

TOBIAS GUTMANN, illustrator, storyteller, artist and sometimes a graphic designer but mostly a nice guy How is your bed? It is like a nice white cloud in the blue sky, where I hide when I am tired. Once I am in it, dreams become true. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don't like jelly beans and fennel or when I bite in a guava fruit and realize it is rotten and full of worms. Which is your favorite book? I like the book with the colorful fish, the corals an the shells. The lion-fish is my favorite. I have seen a real baby lion-fish swimming fifty centimeters close to me. I was scared, but he was friendly. Have you got an imaginary friend? The lion-fish, The purple butterfly and the crocodile under my bed, but that is not really a friend.

JULIA KAUPITWA, designer How is your bed?My bed is a bunk bed which I share with my sister. She sleeps upstairs and I sleep downstairs. I like to close the curtains around the bed so I feel comfortable and protected. Which meal you do not like?I hate to eat asparagus. Even the smell of cooked asparagus makes me feel bad. And your favourite? My favorite meal is pasta with tomato sauce and a lot of cheese. Which is your favourite book? I don't read but I love to listen to the stories of two little mice my father invents. Have you gon an imaginary friend? I love to use my imagination but I don't have an imaginary friend.

JUNKO NAKAMURA, illustrator How is your bed? I sleep on a FUTON, a japanese bedding. It smells very good after drying under the sun. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don't like carrots, because they taste sweet and bitter at the same time. And your favourite? My favorite is DAGASHI, very cheap junk sweet. Your favorite book to read? “The Little House” by Virginia Lee Burton, “Guri and Gura” by R. Nakagawa and Y. Yamawaki. Have you got an imaginary friend? Not really, but I often imagine that objects like bowl or ORIGAMI have a personality.

TAKASHI IWASAKI, artist How is your bed? I don't have a bed, but I have a huton (pronounced like "hoo-tong"). It's cozy. It's thin, flat, and you can fold it up. When I'm sleepy, my mom puts it open on the floor, and I sleep on it; and then when I wake up, my mom folds it up and puts it away in the closet. It's very Japanese. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don't like asparagus. I don't like wasabi either. I think I can eat them when I grow up. And your favourite? I love curry and ramen. Your favorite book to read? "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." I like the holes in the book. It's a funny book. I like "Everyone Poops," too. It's a funny book, too. I like funny books. Have you got an imaginary friend? Yes! Many friends. They look like people, but have wings and can fly. They live in villages in clouds in the sky. I sometimes visit them on balloons. They like shiny stuff, like sparkles.

SILVIA KNÜPPEL, designer How is your bed? I sleep in a wooden bunk bed with my sister. She is sleeping in the top bed and I am sleeping in the lower bed. I like to sleep in a room with my older sister, that makes me less afraid at night. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don`t like red cabbage and mushrooms. And your favourite? I love pancakes and Franzbrötchen, this is a typical pastry from Hamburg. My friend Susi also likes it a lot, after music class my mum always get one for us, that’s why we really like to go there. Your favorite book to read? I really love books! I very much like to read and to look at the pictures of “Where the wild things are” (by Maurice Sendak) my smaller brother already knows every page by heart. Have you got an imaginary friend? No, but I like to take care of snails, I am collecting them near the beach and then I am building houses for them.
