Panda and faces: Rob Pruitt

Sometimes the lines of the face are steady and bold, sometimes they skip and falter. I just go with my emotions, which are always changing. What results, whether the simple lines of a smiling face over a pastel blush, or a sorrowful cry dashed over a range of fiery reds, really paints a story, not just a picture. Rob Pruit

ALBANE, HOW OLD R U?

ALBANE DE SIGY, designer, Madaket How is your bed? My bed is quite normal. There's a green cover with white small flowers. I share my room with my elder sister. Which kind of meal you do not like?  I don't like any kind of cabbage, the smell and the taste. And your favourite? I really like my mummy's chocolate cake. Your favorite book to read? MARTINE Have you got an imaginary friend? No, but I have a female labrador, Maya. I talk to her whenever I'm sad or happy.

JULIE BOUCHERAT, redactrice, Milk magazine How is your bed? My bed is all white, with poetic english lace. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don't like oysters! And your favourite? I love chicken with lemon sauce. Your favorite book to read? “Le Petit Prince” (“The Small Prince”) d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Have you got an imaginary friend? I am sure that my fluffy rabbit comes alive when I don't look at him.

MINA, HOW OLD R U?

MINA PANIC, designer, IO Kids design How is your bed? My bed is very nice and soft. It has a green velvet cover and my grandmothers knitted cushions with colourful roses on it. And it has my favourite doll Gina in it. Which kind of meal you do not like? I really don’t like cabage! And your favourite? And my favourite food is pate. My mum gets really upset because pate is all I ever want to eat. Your favorite book to read? My favourite book is called ‘The cat who steals the slippers’ (The cobbler cat) by Ela Peroci. The book is about a cat who takes away the slippers from children who don’t put them away before they go to bed. The children wake up in the morning and decide to go through the forest to find the cat and bring their slippers back. My grandmother always tells me. That the cat will come and take my slippers too  if I don’t put them away. Have you got an imaginary friend? I don’t but my special friend is my uncle who is a cobbler. I always sit next to him in his workshop and watch him make shoes on his lap.  My favourite bit is right at the end,  watching him trim the sole into a perfect shape with just one sweeping cut.  He always gives me pate sandwiches.

NISHANT JETHI, designer How is your bed? My bed was messd up all the time. Full of  cartoon books and toys,cryons  lying around.. I Always like my favorite stuff around. Which kind of meal you do not like? I use to hate  food. And your favourite? I love mango’s Your favorite book to read? Arabian nights. Have you got an imaginary friend? Ohh yes I had  elephant friend named Raja.

IFKE, HOW OLD R U?

IFKE, AboutStek, designer How is your bed? My bed is quite big already and I’m very proud of it. My huge teddybear that used to belong to my mother also sleeps there. It is so old that it is bald all over... Which kind of meal you do not like? I don’t like boiled potatoes! And your favourite? I absolutely adore my grandmothers (Indonesian) cooking, I could eat myself through a mountain of it and never have enough. Your favorite book to read? The tales of the Grimm Brothers, also all generally famous tales of the Sleeping Beauty, Snow White etc. Have you got an imaginary friend? I have no imaginary friend, only imaginary enemies (monsters under the bed, the feared children stealer of around the corner) and a lot of live friends with whom I play outside if I can!

PATRICIA, HOW OLD R U?

PATRICIA, AboutStek, designer How is your bed? I have a simple, metal bed with a lovely soft blanket in pastel tints from the sixties. I love to sleep under the blanket, without a sheet in between, because it is so soft. Which kind of meal you do not like? I don’t like sprouts and watermelon, the melon because once I ate to much of it. And your favourite? My favourite meal is hering preserved in vinegar, with eggsauce and white beans. My mother tells me that I should not eat this when my friends come over for dinner, because they probably would not like this. Your favorite book to read? I really love it when my mother or father reads for me, especially Floddertje, written by Annie M.G. Schmidt. It is about a very dirty girl with a very dirty dog. Have you got an imaginary friend? No, my friends are for real. But instead of playing with dolls, I play with cuddly animals. I put them clothes on and also diapers.

J.C. PONSA, photographer and the designer How is your bed? My bed is a bunkbed for six…my father built it up for his three kids so we could invite a friend each over to sleep at home. Which kind of meal you do not like? Vegetables…all kinds! And your favourite? Pasta and pizza.Pizza and pasta.(order does not matter) Your favorite book to read? No, I look at pictures in magazines...I want to become a photographer when I grow up! Have you got an imaginary friend? I don’t have an imaginary friend…I have two brothers to play and fight!

ELIZA FRICKER, designer How is your bed? It is covered in toys and stickers. Which kind of meal you do not like? I only like chips, bread and pancakes. Your favorite book to read? The Tiger Who Came To Tea and any pop- up books. Have you got an imaginary friend? No.. But I have a toy that i take everywhere and I always lose hime called Lamb.
